Farm Tour Options

Nestled in the rolling hills of Southwest Virginia, the Harvest Table Farm flourishes. The farm provides fresh vegetables, berries, and wild edibles to its counterpart, the Harvest Table Restaurant.

The Harvest Table Farm has been in operation since fall of 2010 and grows specifically for the restaurant’s needs. The goal is not to replace all of the important farmer relationships with growers established over the past few years with local growers, but to extend the overall use of local foods.

Kicking off the 2020 season of the Harvest Table Farm with new stewards, the Root family, Jonny, Erin, and Josephine! Jonny Root has farmed on 6 continents since 2012. He lived on organic and biodynamic farms, eco-communities, urban centers, and occupied territories while learning permaculture, market gardening, urban farming, beekeeping, and animal husbandry. Simultaneously his now partner, Erin Root, was traveling Central America, practicing permaculture, Rolfing, community building, festival production, and earth based ceremony. The two met at a school for indigenous knowledge in Nicaragua, moved to Alaska, and are now a family of three. They are over the moon to start a life in the Appalachian Region among so many other farmers and look forward to connecting deeply with their new community.
